Christmas Movie Countdown: 21
Movie 21: The Muppet Christmas Carol
Another one of D's favourites and yet another reworking of the classic Dickens Christmas tale. A few years back we were lucky enough to watch this movie a couple of days before Christmas at the movies (the first time I'd ever seen it)... it was wonderful. Check out the trailer here...

We found this gem by accident last year. Oh boy, what a find. It quickly became one of our favourite Christmas movies. Such a fantastic cast - especially the late James Gandolfini. You need to watch this movie this Christmas... trust me! Check out the trailer here...

Frankie Magazine
So there I was in the Bury St Edmunds WHSmiths on the hunt for Oh Comely magazine (check out my Oh Comely post Here), which I've still not found - boo!!! We gave up and were just about to leave when I found something else...
the unicorn of the magazine world -
Frankie Magazine.
the unicorn of the magazine world -
Frankie Magazine.
Now, what you've gotta understand something, Frankie magazine is hard to come by (it's Australian). I've wanted to read this mag for a while (at least three years or so), but I just couldn't get my hands on a copy (yeah, I know I could just subscribe - but where's the fun in that). On a recent trip to London I finally got my hands on a copy - Issue 60. I was so pleased with myself and read it cover to cover on the train back to Norwich. But, I figured that was it. I was resigned to the fact that I wouldn't get to read another copy (unless I took a trip to Magma). But, there it was... Issue 61, just sitting there looking back at me. Oh and I'm loving it...
This issue is jam packed with so much great humour, the most interesting articles, beautiful artwork and illustrations.
If you ever manage to get your hands on a copy... buy it, you'll love it!

Team DK Christmas Cards
It's time for the Team DK Christmas cards. This year we picked out a couple of cool designs, but the big purchase for us was a wax candle stamp from Clas Ohlsen (there's no longer an online link - sorry!). Check out this bad boy...
We decided to stamp all of our cards with this stamp. We had a few wax based mishaps at the beginning, but we really had it down towards the end.
How cool are these wax seals?
I love how these stamps turned out - it's really helped us personalise our Christmas cards this year! I think TeamDK will be sealing all correspondence with a wax seal from now on.

Out & About: Bury St. Edmunds
Today we took a little shopping trip to Bury. I worked there for a while last year, but it was D's first visit. We had such a great time. Hours of shopping and a spot of lunch at the Really Rather Good Coffee House.
Such a cute little cafe with super friendly staff. We scoffed down our delicious sandwiches in record time.
Check out the cool plates...
Then we headed back into town to check out the cool Christmas lights (and a little more shopping).
What a great day! We headed back to Norwich in the early evening and decided to finally try to the Dray Yard Smokehouse (we've been meaning to give it a go since it opened). OMG... the food was fantastic. D went for the steak, which was unbelievable. And I went for a simple chicken salad, which was just as good (sorry for the lack of pictures - the food was so distracting and we totally forgot!). The next time you're in Norwich, you gotta grab yourself some authentic American Barbecue - Dray Yard Smokehouse.

Movie 6: Jack Frost
I've not seen this one in years, and D's never seen it. Sure, it's Christmas-y, but it's not the greatest film. However, Michael (Batman) Keaton and Henry Rollins are in it - that's gotta count for something right? Doubt this will make the TeamDK Christmas Movie Countdown next year. You can check out the trailer here...

TeamDK: Christmas Labels
Here's a quick and easy Christmas label project. This is what you'll need...
- Some old style tags
- A to/from stamp (this is optional)
- An ink stamp pad (again optional)
- Some metallic pens
My design is just a guide. I wanted to make some (sort of) handmade labels this year, and I'll be using these with some stag wrapping paper and vintage string (I'll be posting pictures of my wrapped presents Christmas eve). Go wild with your labels. I wanted to keep mine as simple as possible, to ensure they wouldn't clash with my chosen wrapping paper. This will add a fabulous handmade touch to your gifts this year.
As you may have noticed... I didn't have a wooden stamp block, so instead I stuck the stamp to an old tupperwear lid.
And here are my finished labels... pretty simple, but I like them. Have fun making yours.

A Spot of Lunch at Charmed Interiors
Today we took a little trip to my folks. On the way we stopped off in Downham Market for a spot of lunch at the fabulous Charmed Interiors. We had a couple of delicious sandwiches and a piece of Gluten Free Dime Bar cake each (very naughty). After a little look around it was off to Kings Lynn for a spot of shopping, then a large hot coffee from Costa for the journey home. All in all, a good day!
If you're ever in Downham Market, be sure to check it out.

Not the most Christmas-y of films, but it is set over the Christmas period. A little bit of crime, black humour and murder, what more could you want from a movie? Plus it's directed by Harold Ramis! Check out the trailer here...
